Summer’s End
As summer in Chicago begins to draw to a close, the level of activity seems to pick up. People
try to get their last bit of vacation in or push to finish up the novel they’ve been trying to read;
children chase fireflies; barbeque grills are fired up for the last time; couples dine Al fresco and
people watch knowing that soon the chill autumn air will chase everyone inside. The last of the
city’s big summer festivals gear up for their annual bash over the Labor Day holiday and end of
summer picnics are in full swing.
A few CAAAP photographers were out and about and captured some of these scenes for
Journey Magazine.

These are great photos! My favorites are: Gerard Evans because of how the young man is framed by the other players in the photograph, yoga Priestess and Mother of Young Man killed (I feel her pain).
Thanks to the CAAAP photographers who participated in this “Summers End” photographic project. The work is outstanding.
I love the candid summertime photos by Gerard Evans. I attended this wonderful event. Gerard truly captured the spirit of the day. I also like the man watching the air and water show. I can see the clouds in his glasses.
